Once again, we changed our original plan. With the high tide at around 3pm, the tide would come in starting at around noon but there is access to the sea floor until around 1pm. We decided to have an early start with breakfast at 6am and to set out at 7am going directly to Hopewell Rocks Park with a four and a half hour drive, skipping Saint John altogether. We managed to get there with plenty of time to walk the sea floor and explore the small caves that were not cordoned off. As we were there, we could already see that the sea water starting to submerge the smaller rocks. It then continued to devour larger and larger areas with quite noticeable speed. It is quite an experience and well worth waking early for. Our timing was just right we don't even need the two-day tickets.
Heading over to Prince Edward Island, I was told that I should go to the monument at the Visitors Center to look for the brick commemorating the Wind Tunnel's contribution to the construction of the Confederation Bridge. Although I found driving over the bridge was not very special, finding our name in the monument was quite cool.
On to the farmhouse. We have finally arrived after the long drive. The house was very nice with plenty of room and very clean. All the kitchen stuff we need are there. Plenty of books and videos.
We thought that the grocery store closes at 8pm but no luck. We were there around 7pm and none of them were open. We ended having supper in Charlottetown and stayed for the Canada Day fireworks. It was a festival with food stalls and live music. Lots of fun. The fireworks were very good and was well worth the wait.
Tomorrow we will start setting down and enjoy PEI.
